BIRDHOUSE GOURD

Growing gourds to make into birdhouse can be a fun project for the whole family. You can start them indoors 4 to 6 weeks before the last  frost. They don’t like to be disturbed, so plant two seeds in 4 inch pots with damp  seed starter mix. Cover with 1 inch of mix. Cover pots with clear plastic and keep soil moist and warm.  Plant outdoors after frost in hills 4 inches apart.  For cleaner  gourds, plant under a trellis and guide them up as they grow.    20 seeds from organic plants
