Wild Rose Seed

A large thorny plant with simple wild rose flowers, makes a good hedgerow plant. Excellent source of Vitamin C provided by the hips, Wild Roses are a favorite food of many wild animals, including birds of all kinds. It is good food for humans as well, and can be preserved in honey or jam.Rose seeds in general are difficult to start, sometimes requiring a year before they sprout. Though Wild roses are often easier, it's still a slow process. Once established they grow without much care, and can spread quickly.
