Rose Rugosa Seed - Deep pink

50 + fresh deep pink rugosa rose seeds. Excellent source of Vitamin C provided by the hips, rose hips are a favorite food of many wild animals, inluding birds. It is good food for humans as well, and can be preserved in honey or jam. Rugosa roses have the fattest and juiciest hips of all. Rose seeds in general are slow to start, sometimes requiring a year before they sprout. Though Rugosa roses are often easier, it requires patience. They benefit from a long period of cold to sprout, so best to start them in a fridge. Once established they grow without much care, and can spread quickly. Rugosa roses are EXTREMELY thorny, making them an excellent plant for hedgerows.
